How To Make Homemade BBQ Chicken Pizza

This BBQ chicken pizza recipe makes a filling serving of tender chicken, topped with gooey shredded mozzarella and smoked gouda for a deep, smoky flavor.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • ½*homemade pizza crust,(see Recipes Notes for recipe)
  • 2tspolive oil
  • cupbbq sauce,(plus 2 tbsp)
  • 1cupchicken,(about one 8 oz breast), cooked, chopped or shredded
  • cupmozzarella cheese,shredded
  • cupsmoked gouda cheese,shredded
  • ½small red onion,thinly sliced
  • fresh cilantro,chopped, for topping, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 475 degrees F. Cover the shaped dough lightly with plastic wrap and allow it to rest as the oven preheats.

  2. Brush the shaped dough lightly with olive oil. Using fingers, push dents into the surface of the dough to prevent bubbling.

  3. Top the dough evenly with ⅓ cup of BBQ sauce. Toss the cooked chicken with the remaining BBQ sauce, then scatter all around the pizza. Add the cheeses and red onion.

  4. Bake the pizza for 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and top with fresh cilantro, if desired.

  5. Slice the hot pizza and serve immediately. Enjoy!
