Ingredients

  • 4 fresh abalones
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Scrub the abalones with a brush to remove any dirt or sand. Rinse thoroughly.

  2. Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add the abalones and cook for 5 minutes.

  3. Remove the abalones from the pot and carefully remove the flesh from the shells. Slice the abalones into thin pieces.

  4. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Set aside.

  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

  6. Add the sliced abalones to the skillet and cook for 2 minutes on each side.

  7. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cook for 1 hour until the abalones are tender.

  8. Stir in the soy sauce mixture and cook for an additional 10 minutes until the sauce thickens.

  9. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  10. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
