Ingredients

  • 4 slices of rye bread
  • 1 cup of marinara sauce
  • 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup of sliced pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup of sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup of chopped green bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup of chopped red onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon of dried basil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Place the rye bread slices on a baking sheet.

  3. Spread each slice with marinara sauce.

  4. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.

  5. Top with pepperoni, black olives, green bell pepper, and red onion.

  6. Sprinkle dried oregano and dried basil over the toppings.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.

  9. Cut each slice into smaller pieces if desired.

  10. Serve warm and enjoy.
