  • 4 tilapia fillets
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 4 burger buns
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Tartar sauce (optional)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying


  1. In a shallow dish, mix together flour, bread crumbs, salt, and pepper.

  2. Dip each tilapia fillet in beaten eggs, then coat with the bread crumb mixture.

  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the tilapia fillets for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

  4. Toast the burger buns if desired.

  5. Assemble the sandwiches by placing a tilapia fillet on the bottom half of each bun. Top with lettuce, tomato slices, and tartar sauce if desired. Cover with the remaining bun halves.
