How To Make Air Fryer Chicken Biryani Recipe
Delicious and fragrant biryani made with tender chicken and aromatic rice, cooked in an air fryer for a healthier version.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
- 2 cups of basmati rice
- 2 cups of water
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, grated
- 2 tbsp biryani masala powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 cardamom pods
- 2 cloves
- 1 bay leaf
- Salt to taste
- Handful of coriander leaves, chopped for garnishing
Instructions

Rinse rice and soak in water for 30 minutes.

Season chicken with salt and biryani masala powder.

Preheat air fryer at 350°F for 5 minutes.

In a small pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds, cinnamon, cardamom pods, cloves, and bay leaf. Saute until fragrant.

Add onion, garlic, and ginger to the pan and saute until golden.

Add the chicken to the pan and cook for 5-7 minutes until lightly browned.

Add soaked rice, turmeric powder, and water to the chicken, and mix well.

Transfer the mixture to the air fryer basket and cook for 20-25 minutes or until the rice is fully cooked.

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
