  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and salt. Create a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.

  3. Stir the ingredients together until a dough begins to form. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.

  5. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet or pizza stone.

  6. Punch down the dough and transfer it to the prepared baking sheet. Use your hands or a rolling pin to shape the dough into a round pizza crust.

  7. Add your favorite toppings and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and crispy.

  8. Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve.
