How To Make Easy Paella
The classic Spanish rice dish made easy and flavorful with chicken, shrimp, and flavorful saffron broth.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 cup Arborio or Valencia rice
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp saffron threads
- 1/2 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions

Heat the oil in a large skillet or paella pan over medium heat.

Add the onion, garlic, and red pepper and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the rice and stir until it is well coated, then add the chicken broth, smoked paprika, saffron, chicken, and shrimp.

Bring to a boil then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.

Season with salt and pepper and serve with lemon wedges.
