How To Make Spiced Poached Pears in Chocolate Sauce

Ingredients
- 4 pears, peeled and cored
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup red wine
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4 cloves
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions

In a saucepan, combine water, red wine, sugar, cinnamon stick, cloves, and vanilla extract. Bring to a simmer.

Add the pears to the simmering liquid and cook for 20-25 minutes, or until the pears are tender.

Remove the pears from the liquid and set aside. Discard the cinnamon stick and cloves.

In a separate saucepan, melt the chocolate chips and heavy cream over low heat, stirring until smooth.

To serve, place a poached pear on a plate and drizzle with the chocolate sauce. Serve warm.
