Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups of graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup of melted butter
  • 1 cup of sliced strawberries
  • 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp of cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1 tsp of lemon juice
  • 1 cup of whipped cream

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Press into the bottom of a greased 9-inch springform pan to form the crust.

  2. In a saucepan, mix together sliced strawberries, sugar, cornstarch, water, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly.

  3. Remove the strawberry mixture from heat and let it cool for a few minutes. Then spread it evenly over the crust in the springform pan.

  4. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the strawberry filling to set.

  5. Just before serving, carefully remove the torte from the pan and place it on a serving platter. Top with whipped cream and additional sliced strawberries, if desired.

  6. Slice and serve chilled.
