Ingredients

  • 2 ripe pawpaws
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a bread pan.

  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe pawpaws.

  3. Add sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract to the mashed pawpaws. Mix well.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.

  6. Pour the batter into the greased bread pan.

  7. Bake for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
