Serves:
Ingredients
- 12 zucchini or pumpkin blossoms
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup sparkling water
- Oil for frying
Instructions
-
Wash the zucchini or pumpkin blossoms and gently remove the stems and stamens.
-
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and black pepper. Gradually whisk in the sparkling water until a smooth batter forms.
-
Heat the oil in a deep frying pan or pot over medium heat.
-
Dip each blossom into the batter, making sure it is evenly coated. Shake off any excess batter.
-
Carefully place the coated blossoms into the hot oil, a few at a time. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
-
Remove the blossoms from the oil and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
-
Serve the crispy zucchini or pumpkin blossoms hot as an appetizer or side dish.
