Ingredients

  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Peel and dice the potatoes into 1-inch cubes.

  2. In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add salt. Add the potatoes and cook until tender, about 15 minutes.

  3. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.

  4. Add sour cream, butter, milk, salt, and black pepper to the potatoes.

  5. Mash the potatoes using a potato masher until creamy and well combined.

  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
