Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 bunches of taro leaves
  • 2 cans of coconut cream
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp of salt

Instructions

  1. Wash the taro leaves and remove the stems. Tear into medium-sized pieces.

  2. In a large pot, place a layer of taro leaves at the bottom.

  3. Spread a layer of sliced onions and minced garlic on top.

  4. Pour half of the coconut cream over the onions and garlic. Sprinkle with salt.

  5. Repeat the layering process with the remaining taro leaves, onions, garlic, coconut cream, and salt.

  6. Carefully fold the banana leaves over the mixture to form a sealed packet.

  7. Place the wrapped Palusami in a large pot or steamer and cook on low heat for 1 hour.

  8. Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Carefully unwrap the banana leaves and serve hot.
