Ingredients
- 1 lb asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 slices of bread, toasted
- Parmesan cheese, grated (for garnish)
Instructions

Steam the asparagus until tender. Drain and set aside.

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour to make a roux.

Gradually whisk in the milk until the mixture thickens. Season with salt and pepper.

Add the steamed asparagus to the sauce and stir until well-coated.
