How To Make Steak & Chips Pie

Ingredients

  • 500g beef steak, cubed
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 cups of beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups of frozen French fries

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat some oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef and cook until browned on all sides. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, add the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook until softened and fragrant.

  4. Return the beef to the skillet and add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine everything.

  5. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then cover the skillet and transfer it to the preheated oven.

  6. Bake for 1.5 hours or until the beef is tender and the sauce has thickened.

  7. Meanwhile, prepare the French fries according to the package instructions.

  8. Once the beef is done, remove the skillet from the oven and top the mixture with the cooked French fries.

  9. Place the skillet back in the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the fries are golden and crispy.

  10. Serve the steak and chips pie hot and enjoy!
