Unfortunately an Arby’s might not always be close, open, or in the budget but fortunately there is a way to make enough sandwiches to feed an army on a budget.

This roast beef sandwich recipe makes a sandwich that's filled with tender and slow-cooked roast beef similar to Arby's. Make it even better homemade savory sauce.

Total: 3 hrs 30 mins

  • oz yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp hot sauce
  • cooking spray

For Serving:

  • hamburger buns
  • french fries

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients together in a slow cooker and cook for 6 hours on low heat, or 3 hours on high heat, until tender

  2. After removing the roast, allow the roast to rest briefly.

  3. Transfer remaining liquids to a saucepot and reduce this in half or until the sauce thickens.
