How To Make Shaved Beef Lettuce Wraps

A healthy Asian-inspired appetizer or main course, filled with tender shaved beef and crunchy vegetables, wrapped in crisp lettuce leaves.

Preparation: 20 minutes
Cooking: 10 minutes
Total: 30 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shaved beef
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp ginger powder
  • 1 head of lettuce
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cup sliced cucumbers
  • 1/4 cup sliced scallions
  • 1/4 cup chopped peanuts
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, garlic powder, and ginger powder.

  2. Heat a large skillet over high heat. Add shaved beef and sauce mixture; cook until beef is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. Meanwhile, wash lettuce leaves and pat dry. Arrange on a platter.

  4. When beef is done, place in a serving bowl, along with the sliced carrots, cucumbers, scallions, and chopped peanuts.

  5. To serve, spoon the beef mixture onto the center of each lettuce leaf. Fold the sides over, and enjoy with lime wedges on the side.
