Serves:

Ingredients

  • 500g beef, cubed
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 potatoes, diced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pot and brown the beef cubes. Remove from pot and set aside.

  2. In the same pot, sauté the onions and garlic until fragrant.

  3. Add the beef back to the pot and pour in the beef broth, soy sauce, and tomato paste. Stir well.

  4. Add the bay leaves, carrots, and potatoes. Season with salt, pepper, and brown sugar.

  5. Cover the pot and let it simmer for 2 hours or until the beef is tender.

  6. Serve hot with steamed rice.
