How To Make Steamed Sea Bass

  • 4 sea bass fillets
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Rinse the sea bass fillets and pat them dry.

  2. Place the fillets on a heatproof dish and season with salt and pepper.

  3. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, and rice wine.

  4. Pour the sauce over the sea bass fillets, making sure they are evenly coated.

  5. Fill a steamer pot with water and bring it to a boil.

  6. Place the dish with the sea bass fillets in the steamer and cover with a lid.

  7. Steam the fish for about 15-20 minutes, or until the flesh is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

  8. Carefully remove the dish from the steamer and garnish with chopped cilantro.

  9. Serve the steamed sea bass hot with steamed rice or vegetables.
