Ingredients

  • 1 pound of scallops
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup of flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, mix together the breadcrumbs, flour, salt, and black pepper.

  2. Dip each scallop into the beaten eggs, then coat it with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.

  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.

  4. Fry the scallops in batches for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

  5. Remove the scallops from the pan and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  6. Serve the breaded and fried scallops hot with tartar sauce or lemon wedges.
