How To Make Steamed bass with garlic & chilli

  • 4 bass fillets
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 red chillies, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • Lime wedges, for serving


  1. Place the bass fillets in a steamer basket.

  2. In a small bowl, mix together minced garlic, sliced red chillies, soy sauce, fish sauce, vegetable oil, sugar, and black pepper.

  3. Pour the garlic-chilli mixture over the bass fillets, ensuring they are evenly coated.

  4. Steam the fish for 10-12 minutes, or until it is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

  5. Sprinkle chopped cilantro over the steamed bass.

  6. Serve hot with lime wedges on the side.
