Spicy Garlic and Pepper Shrimp Recipe

Spicy Thai-style shrimp. Chicken, pork, beef, calamari, scallops, or tofu can easily be substituted for shrimp. This makes for a wonderful supper.

How To Make Spicy Garlic and Pepper Shrimp

  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup cabbage (shredded )
  • 1 Tbsp. garlic (minced )
  • 8 large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 tsp. red pepper flakes (crushed )
  • 2 Tbsp. onion (sliced )
  • 1 Tbsp. cilantro (chopped )
  • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
  1. Heat 1 Tbs. oil in a skillet over high heat.
  2. Add cabbage and 1 Tbsp. water stir-fry for 30 seconds.
  3. Remove cabbage from skillet and place on a serving platter.
  4. Heat the remaining 1 1/2 Tbsp. oil in the skillet over high heat.
  5. Place the garlic and shrimp in the skillet and stir until garlic is lightly browned and shrimp turns pink.
  6. Add pepper, onion, cilantro, soy sauce and remaining water to the skillet.
  7. Stir-fry for 10 seconds.
  8. Pour the hot mixture onto the cabbage.

Instructions

  3. Remove cabbage from skillet and place on a serving platter.

  4. Heat the remaining oil in the skillet over high heat.

  5. Place the garlic and shrimp in the skillet and stir until garlic is lightly browned and shrimp turns pink.

  6. Add pepper, onion, cilantro, soy sauce, and remaining water to the skillet.

  7. Stir-fry for 10 seconds.

  8. Remove shrimp to a serving platter leaving the garlic cloves in the pan.
