Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 inch (2.5cm) piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 red chili, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish
  • Vegetable oil, for cooking

Instructions

  1. Heat a tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  2. Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and sliced chili to the skillet. Cook for 2 minutes until fragrant.

  3. Increase the heat to high and add the prawns to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn opaque and pink.

  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, fish sauce, honey, and lime juice. Pour the sauce over the prawns and toss to coat evenly.

  5. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and the prawns are fully cooked.

  6. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh cilantro.

  7. Serve hot with steamed jasmine rice or noodles.
