How To Make Creamy Pesto Shrimp Recipe

  • 1 lb of shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup of basil leaves
  • 1/4 cup of pine nuts
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 oz of fettuccine pasta
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish


  1. Cook the fettuccine pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. In a blender or food processor, combine the basil leaves, pine nuts, garlic, Parmesan cheese, and olive oil. Blend until smooth to make the pesto sauce.

  3. In a large skillet, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

  4. In the same skillet, pour in the heavy cream and add the pesto sauce. Stir to combine and cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.

  5. Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat with the creamy pesto sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to warm the shrimp through.

  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  7. Serve the creamy pesto shrimp over cooked fettuccine pasta and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
