Ingredients

  • cupwhole wheat graham flour,plus more for rolling
  • ½tspbaking powder
  • ½tspsalt
  • 1tspcinnamon,ground
  • 8tbspbutter,unsalted
  • 1cupbrown sugar,packed
  • ½cupwater
  • corn oil,to grease the pan, optional

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour with the baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a medium bowl.

  2. Combine the butter and sugar in a large bowl, and beat until fluffy and no longer gritty.

  3. Stir in ¼ of the flour mixture at a time, alternating with ⅓ of the water, until blended

  4. Cover with plastic wrap and let rest 30 minutes.

  5. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

  6. Grease 2 baking sheets with oil or line with parchment.

  7. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to an ⅛-inch thick rectangle.

  8. Cut into 2-inch squares with a pizza cutter or knife, or use a 2-inch cookie cutter to cut out rounds.

  9. Place crackers on the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes, until lightly browned.
