Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a large bowl, mix together sour cream, milk, garlic, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Add the potatoes to the sour cream mixture and toss to coat evenly.

  4. Grease a baking dish with butter and layer half of the potatoes on the bottom.

  5. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese over the potatoes.

  6. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and cheese.

  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.

  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
