  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/4 cup red wine
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. After removing the cooked prime rib from the roasting pan, pour off the excess fat, leaving behind approximately 2 cups of drippings.

  2. Place the roasting pan on the stovetop over medium heat. Add the flour to the drippings and whisk until smooth.

  3. Gradually whisk in the beef broth and red wine, ensuring there are no lumps.

  4. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook, whisking constantly, until the gravy has thickened, about 5 minutes.

  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Strain the gravy through a fine sieve to remove any lumps.

  7. Serve the prime rib with the gravy on the side.
