How To Make Homemade Ravioli

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the eggs and olive oil. Mix until dough forms.
  2. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Wrap in plastic wrap and let rest for 30 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, parsley, and black pepper.
  4. Roll out the dough into thin sheets using a rolling pin or pasta machine. Cut the dough into 3-inch squares.
  5. Spoon a small amount of the ricotta filling onto each square. Fold the dough over the filling to create a triangle. Press the edges firmly to seal.
  6. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the ravioli for 3-5 minutes, or until they float to the top. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain.
  7. Serve the ravioli with marinara sauce and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
