Ingredients

  • 1batch20-minute Ricotta Gnocchi
  • 8tbspunsalted butter
  • 20largesage leavesfresh
  • ¼tspred pepper flakescrushed
  • 1smalllemonfresh
  • Parmesan cheesefreshly-grated
  • fine sea salt and freshly-cracked black pepperto taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the ricotta gnocchi according to recipe instructions.

  2. Heat the butter in a large sauté pan over medium-high heat.  Once the butter has nearly melted, add in the sage leaves and crushed red pepper flakes. 

  3. Continue to cook for 2 to 3 minutes, until the butter has turned a light brown color and the sage leaves are crispy. 

  4. Remove pan from the heat. Add in the cooked and drained gnocchi and about 1 to 2 tablespoons of the zest and juice of the lemon. 

  5. Toss to combine. Taste and add salt and pepper as needed.

  6. Serve warm, garnished with Parmesan cheese. Enjoy!

Remember to keep a very close eye on the butter so that it does not burn.
