How To Make Stroopwafels with Treacle Recipe

No breakfast is complete without hot stacks of delicious pancakes! You may not be a morning person now, but with our yummy pancake recipes you certainly will be! There’re easy recipes for all kinds of different pancakes. We have thick and thin pancakes and ones with fruits like blueberries and banana. Don’t forget fluffy, Japanese-inspired pancakes! Cooking: 30 minutes
Total: 45 minutes



  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup treacle or caramel sauce


  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, melted butter, sugar, milk, yeast, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Mix until a smooth dough forms.

  2. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes at room temperature.

  3. Preheat a waffle iron.

  4. Divide the dough into small balls and place one ball in the center of the waffle iron. Close the waffle iron and cook for about 2-3 minutes, or until the waffle is golden brown and crispy.

  5. Remove the waffle from the iron and while it is still warm, carefully slice it in half horizontally.

  6. Spread a generous amount of treacle or caramel sauce on one of the waffle halves and top it with the other half.

  7. Repeat with the remaining dough and treacle/caramel sauce.

  8. Serve the Stroopwafels warm and enjoy!
