Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup treacle or caramel sauce
Instructions
-
In a large bowl, combine the flour, melted butter, sugar, milk, yeast, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Mix until a smooth dough forms.
-
Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes at room temperature.
-
Preheat a waffle iron.
-
Divide the dough into small balls and place one ball in the center of the waffle iron. Close the waffle iron and cook for about 2-3 minutes, or until the waffle is golden brown and crispy.
-
Remove the waffle from the iron and while it is still warm, carefully slice it in half horizontally.
-
Spread a generous amount of treacle or caramel sauce on one of the waffle halves and top it with the other half.
-
Repeat with the remaining dough and treacle/caramel sauce.
-
Serve the Stroopwafels warm and enjoy!
