Ingredients

  • 1 pound bacon strips
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. Gradually add cold water to the dry ingredients and whisk until a smooth batter forms.

  3. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).

  4. Dip each bacon strip into the batter, allowing excess batter to drip off.

  5. Carefully place bacon strips in the hot oil, frying 3-4 strips at a time. Cook until golden brown and crispy, approximately 2-3 minutes per side.

  6. Remove fried bacon from oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  7. Repeat steps 4-6 until all bacon strips are fried.

  8. Serve hot and crispy deep-fried bacon as an appetizer or side dish.
