  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup warm water

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, salt, and sugar.

  2. Gradually add warm water while mixing with a wooden spoon until a dough forms.

  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.

  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  6. Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf.

  7. Place the loaf onto a greased baking sheet and let it rise for another 30 minutes.

  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
