
How To Make Honduran Baleadas
Thick flour tortilla toasted in a charcoal grill, then smothered with refried beans and farmer’s cheese, get the real taste of Honduras with some Baleadas.

Ingredients
For Tortillas:
- 2cupsall-purpose flour
- 1cupwater
- ½cupvegetable oil
- ½tspsalt
For Filling:
- 2cupsrefried beans,warmed
- 1avocado,sliced
- ½cupcrumbled queso fresco,fresh white cheese
- ¼cupcrema fresca,fresh cream
Instructions

Mix flour, water, vegetable oil, egg, and salt in a large bowl; knead until the dough is smooth and no longer sticky.

Form the dough into 8 golf ball-sized balls. Cover and let rest for about 20 minutes.

Stretch each ball of dough into a thick tortilla.

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook each tortilla for about 1 minute per side until browned and lightly puffed.

Layer refried beans, avocado, and queso fresco over tortillas.

Drizzle crema on top and fold tortillas in half over filling.
