How To Make Banana Bread Pancakes

No breakfast is complete without hot stacks of delicious pancakes! You may not be a morning person now, but with our yummy pancake recipes you certainly will be! There’re easy recipes for all kinds of different pancakes. We have thick and thin pancakes and ones with fruits like blueberries and banana. Don’t forget fluffy, Japanese-inspired pancakes!   • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Maple syrup, for serving


  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, flours, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.

  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, vanilla extract, egg, and melted butter.

  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

  4. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Drop 1/4 cup portions of batter onto the skillet and spread into a circle.

  5. Cook until bubbles form on the surface of the pancake, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

  6. Serve the pancakes hot with maple syrup.
