How To Make Ranch Chicken and Rice

A wonderful complete hearty dish that can be made on a sudden whim! This tasty ranch chicken and rice is the perfect combination of tender chicken with a tangy sauce, all the while on a bed of steaming rice.

  • 2 cups instant rice, uncooked
  • 1 ¼ cup milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 pkg ranch dressing mix
  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into ½-inch strips
  • ¼ cup butter , or margarine, melted
  • paprika


  1. Place rice in a greased shallow 2-quart baking dish.

  2. In a bowl, combine the milk, water and salad dressing mix; set aside ¼ cup.

  3. Pour remaining mixture over rice.
  4. Top with chicken strips.
  5. Drizzle with butter and remaining milk mixture.
  6. Cover and bake at 350 degrees F for 35 to 40 minutes or until rice is tender and chicken juice runs clear.

  7. Sprinkle with paprika.
