How To Make Blueberry Biscuits

Treat your taste buds to tart and flaky blueberry biscuits, made with buttermilk and drizzled with a sweet glaze for delightful goodies.

Makes:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 4 tbsp butter, (½ stick) or margarine
  • ¾ cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries, or frozen

For Topping:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 5 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, baking powder and sugar together with a whisk. Cut in butter in pieces. Beat egg and milk together in a separate bowl.
  2. Add to dry ingredients and mix with a spoon. Fold in blueberries. Turn out onto a floured surface and pat to about ½-inch thick using hands

  3. Cut out with biscuit cutter. Place on a sprayed baking sheet with biscuits touching. Bake in preheated 425 degrees F oven for 15 to 20 minutes until biscuits are brown on top. This makes about 12 biscuits.

Topping:

  1. In a bowl whisk together the milk and sugar until desired consistency is reached.

  2. Drizzle over biscuits. Enjoy!
