How To Make Baked Chicken Breasts

  • 24ozchicken breasts,boneless, skinless
  • ½tspgarlic powder
  • ½tspdried thyme
  • ½tsppaprika,scant
  • ¼tsponion powder
  • ¼tspdried oregano
  • ¼tspchili powder
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 2tbspolive oil
  • 1tbspfresh parsley,minced, optional


  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Spray a 13×9-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.

  2. Pound chicken with the flat side of a meat mallet to even out thicker portions and to help tenderize.

  3. In a small bowl whisk together garlic powder, thyme, onion powder, oregano, paprika, chili powder, 3/4 tsp salt (or to taste), and ½ teaspoon pepper.

  4. Place chicken in the baking dish, then brush both sides with olive oil.

  5. Season both sides of chicken evenly with the spice mixture.

  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 16 to 20 minutes until center of chicken breasts registers 165 degrees Fon an instant-read thermometer.

  7. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving and slicing. Garnish with parsley if desired.
