Ingredients

  • 1 wheel of Camembert cheese
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 cup cranberries
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Cut the Camembert cheese into wedges.

  2. Dip each wedge in beaten eggs, then coat with bread crumbs.

  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).

  4. Fry the cheese wedges until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes.

  5. Remove from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  6. In a saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, water, lemon juice, and cinnamon.

  7. Cook over medium heat until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.

  8. Serve the deep-fried Camembert with the warm cranberry sauce.
