How To Make Seattle Cream Cheese Dogs

Ingredients

  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 4 beef hot dogs
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill or stovetop grill pan.

  2. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they release their moisture and become tender, about 5 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  4. Grill the hot dogs until heated through and slightly charred, about 5 minutes.

  5. Spread a generous amount of cream cheese onto each hot dog bun.

  6. Place a grilled hot dog on each bun, then top with caramelized onions and sautéed mushrooms.

  7. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
