How To Make Sweet and Sour Green Beans

Ingredients
- 1 lb green beans, blanched and sliced into 2-inch long strips
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- ¾ cup chicken stock, or water
- 3 bacon slices , roughly 3 oz, chopped
- 1 cup red onion, chopped
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- salt and ground black pepper , to taste
Instructions

Cook bacon in a medium skillet with oil over medium-high heat, and stir occasionally until well-browned.

Add onion and saute until translucent.

Add the flour and roast briefly.

Deglaze with vinegar and reduce briefly.

Add water or chicken broth and sugar. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer, and stir in the green beans.

Continue cooking at a low simmer until beans are hot.

Season with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust accordingly and serve!
