How To Make Banana Pepper and Onion Pasta Recipe

A delicious vegetarian pasta dish with a spicy kick from banana peppers and sweet onions.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pasta
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 banana peppers, thinly sliced
  • 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.

  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add banana peppers, onion, garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Cook for 10-15 minutes until peppers and onions are softened.

  3. Add pasta and reserved pasta water to skillet and toss to coat. Cook for 2-3 minutes until pasta is warmed through and coated in sauce.

  4. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese.
