Ingredients

  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar

Instructions

  1. Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any discolored leaves. Cut them in half.

  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

  3. Add the Brussels sprouts to the skillet, cut side down. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper.

  4. Cook the Brussels sprouts, without stirring, for 5 minutes until they start to brown.

  5. Flip the Brussels sprouts over and cook for an additional 5 minutes until they are tender and caramelized.

  6. Pour the chicken or vegetable broth into the skillet and cover with a lid. Cook for 3 minutes to steam the sprouts.

  7. Remove the lid and add the balsamic vinegar. Stir well to coat the Brussels sprouts.

  8. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until the vinegar has reduced and the sprouts are glazed.

  9. Serve hot and enjoy!
