Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.

  2. In a medium saucepan, heat the heavy cream, minced garlic, thyme, salt, and black pepper over medium heat.

  3. Stir occasionally until it starts to simmer.

  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the greased baking dish. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes

  5. and sprinkle with half of the shredded cheddar cheese.

  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and shredded cheddar cheese.

  7. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top layer.

  8. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Then remove the foil and continue baking for an

  9. additional 15 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is golden and bubbly.

  10. Allow the scalloped potatoes to cool for a few minutes before serving.
