How To Make Yvonne’s Banana Pudding Recipe

A classic southern dessert made with layers of creamy pudding, vanilla wafer cookies, and sliced bananas.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 box of vanilla wafer cookies
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 3 tbsp of cornstarch
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, whisk together milk, sugar, cornstarch, and egg yolks.

  2. Cook mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.

  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.

  4. In a 9×9 inch baking dish, layer sliced bananas and vanilla wafers.

  5. Pour the pudding mixture over the top, covering everything completely.

  6. Chill in refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.
