How To Make Cabbage Burgers

Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 20 minutes
Total: 35 minutes

  • 4 cabbage leaves
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 4 slices of cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Optional toppings: tomato, lettuce, pickles

  1. In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the cabbage leaves and cook for 2-3 minutes, until softened. Drain and set aside.

  2. In a bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  3. Take one cabbage leaf and place a scoop of the ground beef mixture in the center. Fold the sides of the cabbage leaf over the filling, forming a burger shape. Repeat with the remaining cabbage leaves and ground beef mixture.

  4. Heat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Cook the cabbage burgers for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through.

  5. Optional: add a slice of cheese on top of each cabbage burger during the last minute of cooking.

  6. Toast the hamburger buns and assemble the burgers with desired toppings.

  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
