How To Make Hawaiian Pineapple Chicken

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 2 cups pineapple chunks
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill or oven to medium-high heat.

  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger.

  3. Place the chicken breasts in a large resealable plastic bag and pour in the marinade.

  4. Seal the bag and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

  5. Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the marinade.

  6. Grill or bake the chicken for about 12-15 minutes per side or until cooked through.

  7. While the chicken is cooking, prepare the pineapple sauce.

  8. In a small saucepan, combine pineapple chunks, cornstarch, and water.

  9. Cook over medium heat until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.

  10. Serve the grilled or baked chicken topped with the pineapple sauce and garnish with sliced green onions.
