How To Make Sweet & Sour Tofu Recipe
A delicious and tangy tofu dish that combines the sweetness of pineapple and the tanginess of vinegar.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 block of firm tofu, drained and cubed
- 1 cup of pineapple chunks
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup of ketchup
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

In a small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and cornstarch until well combined. Set aside.

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the tofu cubes and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the garlic, bell pepper, and onion. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.

Add the pineapple chunks and the sauce mixture to the skillet. Stir well to coat the vegetables.

Return the cooked tofu to the skillet and gently toss everything together. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve the sweet and sour tofu over steamed rice or noodles.
