How To Make School-days Sprinkle Sponge

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs until frothy.

  3. Gradually add the sugar and continue beating until the mixture becomes thick and pale yellow in color.

  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.

  6. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  7. Pour the batter into the greased cake pan and smooth the top.

  8. Decorate the top of the batter with sprinkles.

  9. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  10. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes.

  11. Carefully transfer the cake to a wire rack to cool completely.

  12. Slice and serve.
