How To Make Hot Cross Bun & Butter Pudding
A delicious and comforting dessert made with hot cross buns and a rich buttery custard.

Ingredients
- 4 hot cross buns, sliced
- 2 cups of milk
- 1/2 cup of heavy cream
- 3/4 cup of sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 cup of raisins
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Grease a baking dish and arrange the sliced hot cross buns in a single layer.

In a saucepan, heat the milk and cream over medium heat until steaming.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.

Slowly pour the hot milk mixture into the egg mixture, whisking constantly.

Sprinkle the raisins over the hot cross buns in the baking dish.

Pour the custard mixture over the buns, making sure to evenly coat them.

Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes to allow the buns to soak up the custard.

Place the baking dish in a larger pan filled with water, creating a water bath.

Bake for 35 minutes, or until the pudding is set and golden brown on top.
