How To Make Easter Egg Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Food coloring (assorted colors)
- Sprinkles or colored sugar (for decoration)
Instructions

In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In a separate larger mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

Divide the dough into several equal portions, depending on how many colors you want to use.

Add a few drops of food coloring to each portion of dough, and knead until the color is evenly distributed.

Roll out each colored dough portion to about 1/4 inch thickness.

Use Easter egg-shaped cookie cutters to cut out shapes from each colored dough.

Place the cut-out cookies onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
